 Doug Strauss, President and Co-Founder

Father of Gloria Strauss, the 11 year old girl whose courageous battle with cancer inspired this service.  Earned his Bachelor's Degree in Math from Seattle University and Masters Degree in Teaching from Pacific Lutheran University.  Served as a high school Spanish and Math teacher for 13 years.  Also acted as the head basketball coach during that time.  Spent 13 years working at the world famous Pike Place Fish Market.  Gained expertise and insights from eight years caring for a wife with Multiple Sclerosis and four years caring for his daughter Gloria's cancer across a wide variety of agencies and treatments.  Has devoted his life to helping other families dealing with life-threatening illnesses and promoting approaches which optimize quality of life.

Bob Turner, Executive Director and Co-Founder 

Former Partner with prestigious consulting firm Accenture.  Led complex projects and corporate programs for over a dozen Fortune 500 companies in three different countries during a 15 year consulting career.  A 1983 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1991.  Was a Captain during six years of active duty in the U.S. Army.  Served as a helicopter pilot and operations officer in a variety of assignments, including stints in Asia, Central America and the Carribbean.  Also a small businessman, he co-founded and launched an internet-based service to help homeschool families, HomeSchool Edge.  Has over 15 years of experience as a Board member for four different nonprofit organizations.  Was part of the community that served the Strauss family during Gloria's illness and discerned a calling to help launch this organization.
